At its regular meeting Monday night, town council:
•awarded the tender for museum landscaping to Darryl’s Custom Landscaping for $69,954.50 and directed the necessary bylaw be prepared;
•approved the renewal of the town’s agreement with Rainycrest Long Term Care Facility for the provision of transportation services for the disabled and directed the necessary bylaw be prepared;
•approved the appointment of Chamberlain Architect Services Ltd. as architects for the new library project, and authorized the town enter into an agreement with the firm;
•approved a request from the Ministry of Natural Resources to erect two convex safety mirrors on the First Street boulevard adjacent to its works yard access point;
•denied a request to use the town-owned property (Pit Road #2 boulevard) located at the rear of 301 Kirsti Place for storage of personal possessions;
•denied a request that the town pay for a concrete driveway crossing at 518 Third St. W. (however, the owner will be informed that they can replace the crossing and alter its slope in accordance with Bylaw 32/82 Schedule C);
•agreed to a recommendation of the Administration and Finance executive committee to receive minutes of settlement for properties located at 1100 Scott St., 835 McKenzie Ave. N., and 839 McKenzie Ave. N.;
•agreed to a recommendation of the Administration and Finance executive committee to approve the Northwest Ontario Sunset Country Travel Association membership request in the amount of $1,513 plus GST;
•agreed to a recommendation of the Administration and Finance executive committee to approve a $250 donation, accompanied with a congratulatory message from the mayor, for the Weechi-it-te-win Family Services’ 20th anniversary celebration next month; and
•agreed to a recommendation of the Administration and Finance executive committee to approve a transfer of $18,975.21 to the Sister Kennedy Centre reserve fund.
