The Fort Frances Power Corporation is extremely pleased to welcome Jorg Ruppenstein as its new Chief Executive Officer, effective Sept. 10.
Ruppenstein will be replacing Jim Kibiuk, who has accepted a position with the Abitibi Consolidated biomass project.
Ruppenstein holds a Bachelor of Electrical Engineering Degree as well as an Electrical Technologist Diploma from Lakehead University and brings with him eight years of project, operations, financial management, and leadership experience.
Since graduation, Ruppenstein has spent eight years working in the pulp and paper industry at the Abitibi-Consolidated, Fort Frances Division Mill. During this time, most of his engineering efforts were geared towards reducing energy and chemical consumption as well as improving plant and equipment performance.
Ruppenstein championed several key strategic projects to help the mill stay competitive in a difficult market environment and was a key player in preparing the mill for a deregulated electricity market.
He and his wife, Christine, are current residents of Fort Frances and have one daughter, Monika.
In his free time, Ruppenstein enjoys playing soccer, hunting with his brothers, and the lake.
The FFPC board of directors is confident that Ruppenstein’s extensive technical background and experience will be an asset to the organization.
