Bass tourney to take up collection for day admission

The Fort Frances Canadian Bass Championship board reviewed its system for daytime admission last week and have decided to make a change for this year’s event.
“We will be asking for a silver collection for people to come in during the day,” noted FFCBC chair Jim Cumming, citing that previously individuals were charged $1, while families had to pay $2.
He explained the funds collected will be “put to work for the community” and will be used for several local initiatives.
The money will be split between the Rainy Lake Fisheries Charity Trust to support and enable them to continue their research on Rainy Lake, and the Fort Frances Sportsmen’s Club to assist them with their live fish release.
A portion of the funds will also go towards the FFCBC $1,000 bursary which is given away annually to a Fort Frances High School graduate.
