Sylvia Barnard, president of Cambrian College since August, 2002, has been elected vice-chair of the board of directors of Contact North/Contact Nord.
“Sylvia brings an incredible wealth of knowledge and experience to Contact North/Contact Nord from her 30-year career in education,” said board chairman Doug Smith.
“She combines a demonstrated capacity for strong leadership with expertise in partnership building and strategy development,” he added.
“It is a privilege to be part of such an important and integral part of the Northern Ontario landscape,” said Barnard.
“For more than 20 years, Contact North/Contact Nord has provided northern residents the opportunity to further their training and education in their own community,” she noted.
