FFCBC entertainment taking shape

The night-time entertainment during the upcoming Fort Frances Canadian Bass Championship could be the best ever.
The schedule kicks off Sunday, July 22 at 8 p.m. with the ever-popular MuchMusic Video Dance for young people under the big tent.
There is no age restriction as alcohol will not be available.
The Chamber of Commerce’s annual “Quest for the Best” will more than fill the bill for Tuesday night’s entertainment (July 24). This popular event features local singing talent from across the district.
Then on Wednesday, July 25 (after the parade of boats), comedian “Moccasin Joe” takes the stage.
The Fort William First Nations’ comic, whose real name is Leonard Dick, says his humour is important in helping heal First Nations’ people issues. He draws from his own life experiences—and is guaranteed to bring serious laughter from the crowd.
The “Battle of the Bands,” meanwhile, still is shaping up (there will be more on this later).
On Thursday night (July 26), the wild and crazy “Mud Men” from London will present “live havoc” on stage. It’s rumoured the bagpipes are included in their antics.
Friday night (July 27), Mother Groove will play the ultimate tribute to Fleetwood Mac. Then Saturday night, Fort Frances’ own Andrew George brings his rock band “Killdare” from Winnipeg to round out the week.
Karon Kaminski, director of night-time entertainment for the FFCBC, along with her committee, still are busy arranging final details and will present a complete lineup in the weeks to come.
