Three Muskies advance to NWOSSAA

Out of the 13 Muskies who competed in the NorWOSSA badminton finals Wednesday in Kenora, three will be heading back there next Tuesday (April 24) for the NWOSSAA showdown.
Senior mixed doubles’ partners Jamie Booth and Siobhan Devlin, and senior girls’ singles competitor Tara Svoboda, advanced after placing in the top two in their respective divisions yesterday.
Svoboda captured the gold medal while Booth and Siobhan won silver.
“They did very well. The more they play, the better they go,” head coach Manami Alexander said of Booth and Devlin.
“She’s keeping her pace. She’s trying to stick to the basics so she can control her game,” Alexander added, referring to Svoboda.
Just missing NWOSSAA berths were Jennifer Lawson and Sarah Paterson (senior girls’ doubles) and Adrian Bondett (senior boys’ singles), who came third after narrowly losing their tie-breaking matches.
