Emo council, along with Association of Municipalities of Ontario, also is reviewing Premier Harris’ “21 steps into the 21st century.” Reeve Fortier said “there are new programs coming out that would be beneficial.”
A copy of the completed SCTP application with RJ Burnside and Associates has been sent to the Ontario Superbuild Corp. for phase two of the proposed sports field.
The site would include several sports programs and centralized at one location. It is located north of the Emo Cemetery and Kaemingh’s sub-division at a cost of $200,000.
Applying through the provincial Superbuild program for funding to pay a substantial part of the project is necessary in order for it to go forward.

Reeve Fortier also said Emo council would appreciate having people advise his office of special events coming up (i.e., anniversaries, birthdays, and community volunteers deserving of recognition).
For instance, Stewart and Alice Kellar will be celebrating their 60th wedding anniversary May 12 from 2-4 p.m. at the Emo Legion.

Emo council also is looking a getting new flags for the municipal office.
The Emo brochure is being updated although council is waiting for input from township residents. “The new one, hopefully, will be in colour. This, of course, depends on pricing,” noted Reeve Fortier.
