Lorne Ricard finished with a time of 2:17 to place first in the 45-49 age group–and fourth overall–at the third-annual 30-km “Runaround Woman Lake” marathon in Longville, Mn. last Saturday.
Ricard finished near the top of the field despite battling the hilly terrain and humid conditions.
Doris Barton also did well, finishing with a time of 2:56 to come third in the 40-45 age group. Kerri Tolen was eighth in the 20-29 age group after clocking a time of 3:08.
Bob Tkachuk was 11th in the 45-49 age group with a time of 3:27 while Greg Ste. Croix finished in 3:55.
Mary Beth Tkachuk finished the five-mile run/walk in a time of 1:11.
Some local runners next will compete at Gramma’s Marathon in Duluth on June 16 while others will run in the Manitoba Marathon in Winnipeg on June 17.
