Dear graduates & friends:
Congratulations on your graduation. I’m sure you have all worked hard and deserve a celebration.
May I, however, offer a word of warning.
Last year, on grad night, after a good party, some students took their friend (a nice boy I hear) who obviously had too much to drink, disrobed him, and left him in our van in our garage.
The young man was found in the morning (still sleeping). Police came and took him home.
I suppose this prank was very funny to this young man’s friends, as he was extremely embarrassed.
However, the person who came across this young man in the morning was a four-year-old girl. She had nightmares for several months after and still, to this day, will not go into another room of the house without Mom or Dad. She still gets scared when a light is on in the morning that perhaps shouldn’t be. (They left all the lights on in the garage so we would find him).
Obviously, she was and still is very traumatized.
I also would imagine that this young man now has a record. I guess he shouldn’t have drank quite so much.
Don’t take this the wrong way, nobody likes a practical joke more than we. Please, just consider all those who you might be hurting before you play any practical joke.
Thank you,
Debbie Jean
