After spending 60-plus hours a week working as a family physician in Calgary, you wouldn’t think Dr. Ted Jablonski would have much energy left over to do anything else–let alone release a CD.
But “Dr. J.” did just that, releasing “Floating”–featuring 10 original songs–in April through Goget’m Productions.
Dr J., formerly of Fort Frances, also has performed in live and studio gigs, with his musical talent ranging from piano and keyboards to guitar, drums, percussion, and blues harmonica.
Oh, and did we mention his long list of acting credentials?
Since moving to Calgary in 1998, he’s played a doctor in the movie “Bad Faith” opposite Gloria Reuben (of ER fame), appeared in “Rodeo and Julie-Ed,” and starred in two roles in “Tony and Tina’s Wedding.”
He also is the entertainment for many pharmaceutical companies in Banff, Lake Louise, and Calgary.
“I enjoy life. I have a lot of fun,” Dr. J. said in an interview published in the Family Practice on May 17. “Every time I’m in a show, I’m a much happier person, even though I’m way busier and not getting enough sleep.
“I am just much more alive. It keeps me going,” he added.
Dr. Jablonski was born and raised in Winnipeg, where he graduated from the University of Winnipeg in the Department of Medicine in 1984.
After graduation, he moved to the small rural community of Ile la Crosse in northern Saskatchewan and spent five years there before ending up in Fort Frances.
