Double beeps

Dear sir:
On a recent trip across the irritation bridge, I heard a quick double beep as my commuter card was scanned.
I asked the toll booth attendant if the two beeps mean I had been charged for two trips. I was informed by the attendant that I had been charged double, and that there was nothing that could be done to correct the double charge at the toll booth.
I then was told to contact Paul McLaughlin about the double beep problem. I grumbled and drove on.
I went to see Mr. McLaughlin at his office in the Minnesota, Dakota, and Western railway building. After explaining my problem, I was informed they were aware of the problem and that they were going to make adjustments to correct it.
One of the possible adjustments would be a five-second delay between beeps of the scanner.
I also was informed that I, and other bridge users who had been double charged, would have their cards updated and a replacement trip put on their cards.
As of the writing of this letter, my card has not been updated, however, it has only been a week since the double charge and things do take time.
I just thought I would pass along this information to other bridge users. Thank you.
Sincerely,
Ron MacGregor
