Since the deadline for applications closed May 25, the Northwest Catholic District School Board is beginning the process of hiring a new director of education.
“We’ve begun the process. We’ve been doing background checks and setting a meeting for interviews,” current Education Director Carol-Lynne Oldale said.
Oldale submitted her resignation in late April to accept a job as director of education for the Catholic board in Thunder Bay.
“The board is hoping the process will be completed by mid-July,” she said. “Hopefully, we’ll have somebody in the position by the beginning of July.”
The new director possibly may appear at a special meeting the board has scheduled for July.
Due to the confidentiality of the hiring process, Oldale was not able to release any details on the applicants, including how many applied and where they’re from.
