Trio of Muskies off to NWOSSAA

The Muskie badminton program were well-represented at the NWOSSAA finals today (April 18) in Atikokan.
The senior boys’ doubles team of Tim Desjardins and Jamie Jensen continued their romp through the league this season—winning all five of their matches at the NorWOSSA championships last Wednesday in Kenora.
The pair have not lost a match in either of their two tournaments this season.
Meanwhile, senior singles player Sandi Elliot joined Desjardins and Jensen at NWOSSAA courtesy of her silver-medal showing in Kenora.
Elliot finished the day with a 3-2 record.
The top two finishers in each division in both the junior and senior ranks advanced to the NWOSSAA finals. But only the senior winners there will advance to the all-Ontarios later this month.
Also competing for the Muskies at the NorWOSSA finals last Wednesday, but failing to advance, were junior girls’ singles players Heidi Emond and Shawnee Morrisseau; the junior girls’ doubles team of Brooke Paterson and Lindsay Johnson; senior girls’ singles competitor Britanny Shine; and the mixed doubles pair of Tina Caul and Travis Stromness.
