Annual ‘daffodil drive’ underway

The air will be covered in bright yellow next week as local Beta Sigma Phi members conclude their annual “daffodil drive” on behalf of the Canadian Cancer Society.
People can pre-order their flowers at $5 for a bunch of 10 at various locations throughout Fort Frances and Emo, including The Place, Bonnie Blue, the Dough and Deli, 364 store, and Fort Frances Times here.
All proceeds will go towards cancer research and treatment programs.
Pre-ordered daffodils will be delivered next Friday (April 5), but those who might have waited too long to order their flowers still can drop by Knox United Church and pick out a bunch then.
Barb MacDonell, the chair of this year’s “daffodil drive,” said the sorority raised more than $8,000 for the Canadian Cancer Society in 2001 and she expected to do as well again this year.
