With heavy hearts and profound gratitude for a life well lived, we announce the peaceful passing of our mother, Audrey “Lois” Fowler, on October 27, at the age of 88, surrounded by her loving family.
Born in Manitoba to Hiram and Florence, Lois spent her life building a warm, open-hearted home where the coffee pot was always on and everyone was welcome.
Lois married her first love, William “Bill,” in the winter of 1953. Together, they built a loving, close-knit family, raising seven children, creating a home filled with warmth and lasting bonds
After her husband Bill’s unexpected passing, Lois showed remarkable strength and resilience. The care, concern, and dedication she devoted to her family carried into her years of service in the hospital kitchen, where she shared that same warmth with those she served.
In her later years, Lois found love, laughter, and companionship with her partner, Ted. Known as grandpa Ted to her grandchildren, and a very special person to us all.

Lois enjoyed playing cards, dice, bingo, and board games with her family. These treasured games will be carried for generations to come. Her loved ones will also cherish the beautiful handmade gifts she created with such care. She was especially known for her knitted and crocheted afghans, baby clothes, and dolls. We’ll also hold dear the road trip adventures filled with laughter and memories, and those lucky enough to have “caught” her singing will always remember the beauty of her voice.
Lois had a generous spirit but her greatest gift was the love she gave so freely. She had a way of making you feel like the most special person in the world. Her love and hugs were truly the best, and she leaves behind a family who loved her deeply and will miss her beyond words.
Left to cherish her memory are her children Anne (Marvin), Audrey (Raimo), Pat (Pam), Bill, Laura (Yale), Shelley (Elmer), numerous grandchildren, along with her siblings Roy and Darlene.
She was predeceased by her parents Hiram and Florence; her husband Bill; partner Ted; daughter Florence “Flo”; daughter-in-law Rhonda; her siblings Joyce, Dennis, Diane; and her great-grandson Austin.
“There are some who bring a light so great to the world that even after they have gone, the light remains.” – Author unknown.
A private interment will be held at a later date.
In memory, donations can be made to the Palliative Care Unit at La Verendrye General Hospital.
Arrangements entrusted to Northridge Funeral Home Ltd., Emo, Ontario.
