A gastrointerstinal outbreak at Rainycrest Long-Term Care Home that began late last week has been declared over.
The outbreak was initially announced on Friday, Oct. 2, by Riverside Health Care, noting that the West Wing of the care home had been put under a number of restrictions, infection prevention and control measures to help limit the spread of the illness. Now that the outbreak has been declared over, these restrictions are no longer in place.
Riverside Health Care continues to maintain safety precautions, infection prevention and control practices in place for the safety of residents, staff and the community.
“We remind everyone to continue self-screening for illness before visiting friends or family in our
facilities and to practice good hand hygiene during your visit,” Riverside said.
“Thank you for your ongoing cooperation and support in keeping those we serve and our staff safe.”
