2027 Budget Year Survey—deadline Oct. 31
The town administration is conducting its annual Budget Year Survey for 2027 to gauge what residents think should be the financial priorities—how tax dollars should be spent—for the coming year.
The town is hoping to have at least five per cent of residents respond to the survey, or about 375 people. Surveys such as this are useful in guiding municipal councils in their financial decisions.
The survey is even more important this year as a new council will be formed following the municipal election on Oct. 26.
Residents can take the survey at: www.surveymonkey.com/r/MRTDRNM
The survey closes on Oct. 31. Paper copies are available at the Civic Centre, Fort Frances Public Library and the Fort Frances Senior Centre.
Reduced municipal wedding services
The town Clerk’s Office will be reducing its wedding services beginning next month as the administration prepares for the upcoming election.
Marriage licences can be issued within 90 days of a wedding; however, the town will not be booking appointments between Oct. 13 and 3.
Wedding services offered by the Town of Fort Frances for October 2026 to January 2027 will be as follows:
October 1-12, 2026: Marriage Licence issuing only
October 13-31, 2026: No Marriage Licence issuing or officiating services
November 1-30, 2026: Marriage Licence issuing only
December 1-18: Marriage Licence issuing and Office Weddings only
The Clerk’s Office is expected to be closed the week of Dec. 21 to 25.
