It is with deep sadness, the family of Susan (Sue) Lori Bagacki announces her peaceful passing at LaVerendrye General Hospital on August 16, 2026. Sue was born on July 30, 1961, to Rita J. Bagacki and the late John H. Bagacki.
She leaves behind to cherish her memory, her mother, siblings John (Nikki), Shaun (Teresa), Gael (Roy), and Guy; nieces and nephews – Jennifer, Craig, Shane, Kayla, Tyler, Tanner, Rory and Sarah; numerous great-nieces and nephews and special friends Ben Allan and Kathy Cox. She was predeceased by her father and sister-in-law Michele.
Sue made her home in Fort Frances for most of her life, apart from a five-year period when she lived in Toronto in the 1980’s. Sue was a hard worker, dedicated employee, and always diligent in her duties. Many will remember her at the Husky House, Original Jewelry & China shop, Red Dog Inn, The Place and most recently at the LCBO.
Sue always has a warm inviting smile and a friendly greeting for everyone she encountered. Those that knew her can attest to her warm heart, humorous nature, witty comebacks, and strong-willed character. One would often receive an evening phone call from her at “The Pine” looking for verification of a hotly contested debate. She would be in sheer jubilation if the answer supported her position. If not in her favour, it went momentarily silent. Then came her rebuttal and you became part of the debate, whether you wanted to or not. Sue loved to go fishing with close friends and family and was very successful, often the winner of the “First, Most and Largest” fish contests and more importantly – Bragging Rights. Some of her favorite fishing spots included Obikoba, Mainville, Maynard and Rainy Lake.
She had a special loving relationship with her nieces and nephews all of which love to recite their favorite Auntie Sue stories. We will strive to carry-on her gift of storytelling with the same passion, humour, and mandatory embellishments. She was a special part of our family, and her loss leaves a void that can never truly be replaced. We are grateful for the memories, the laughter, and the unconditional love she provided. She will forever be in our hearts.
Our family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to Dr. Patel, as well as all medical and support staff that provided care, compassion, and understanding during her illness both at LaVerendrye Hospital and at her home.
A Celebration of Life (and a beer in Sue’s honour) will be held at a later date with family and friends. Your journey through life is now complete, we will forever miss you and our love for you will be unwavering.
