The 25th Emo Walleye Classic takes place May 21, 22 and 23. There are 33 teams signed up to date. This is always a fun filled tournament, enjoyed by anglers, the dedicated committee, volunteers and all spectators. To add to the fun there will be a corn hole tournament on Friday night, May 22. More info to follow. A dance will take place on Saturday, May 23. Party Rock will provide the music. The cost for entries $10 and age of majority is required.

There will be Beer and Burger this Friday, May 1, at the Emo Legion. Beer and Burger will be followed by a country dance, music provided by Dwight Tank.
The Retired Nurses Luncheon takes place Friday, May 8, at the Knox United Church in Fort Frances. Seating starts at 11:30 a.m. and lunch will be served at 12:30. The cost is $25, including gratitude. The Sunset Palliative Care Committee invites everyone and their loved ones to their “Pushing Up Daisies” fair. Explore informational booths and connect with local services offering support to you and your family throughout the end-of-life journey. This year’s event also features powerful speakers you won’t want to miss. This event takes place Tuesday, May 12, from 2-6p.m. at the Emo Legion. Sunset Country Metis Council will host an evening featuring Brandi Vezina on her Highway & Wildflowers Tour on Saturday, May 9, at the Sunset Country Metis Community Hall, 714 Armit Avenue, Fort Frances. Entertainment starts at 7 p.m. This event is free for all ages. Brandi and her band performed last year at the Metis Community Hall and all those attending thoroughly enjoyed her performance.
