On April 11, 2026, Caroline Meunier went home to be with her Lord and Saviour. She passed away peacefully at the Rainy River Health Centre with family by her side. She was born on January 19, 1931, in Wroxton, Sask., to Paul and Alexandria Berezowski. She raised her family in Rainy River, Ont., and later moved to Stratton, Ont., where she resided for nearly 30 years.
In her early years, Carol devoted herself to her work as a homemaker and also as a seamstress for Arctic Cat. Her greatest pleasures, however, were found in cooking and tending to her garden. She spent many happy hours reading recipes, preserving homegrown vegetables for her family, and nurturing her flower and vegetable gardens.
Above all, Carol treasured her role as “Baba.” While she found great joy in simple things like planting her tomatoes, feeding the hummingbirds, and awaiting the return of the robins in the spring, it was the time spent with all her grandchildren that meant the most to her. Family was at the heart of everything she did and every moment spent with them was cherished.
Carol is survived by her daughter Joanne (Ted Heyens); grandchildren Jason McQuaker (Stacey), Janelle Hutchinson (Jesse), Julie McQuaker; great-grandchildren Presley (Lenny) Petkau, Annika and Eli McQuaker, Grace Gullett and Charlie Hutchinson; and great-great grandchild Taya Petkau. She is also survived by her brother Jerry Berezowski. She will be missed by many nieces, nephews, friends, and neighbours.
Carol is predeceased by her husband Alphonse Meunier; parents Paul and Alexandria Berezowski; her son Robert (Bobby) Meunier; son-in-law Robin McQuaker; and siblings Anne, Mary, Eva, Willard, Pauline, Victor, Charlie, Cecil, Edward, and Stanley.
A private family gathering will take place to celebrate the life of Carol. If so desired, donations can be made to Rainy River Hospital Auxiliary.
Arrangements entrusted to Northridge Funeral Home Ltd., Emo, Ontario.
