JEANETTE BLANCHE ROY (NEE MARMUS)

Jeanette Blanche Roy (nee Marmus) of Rainy River, Ontario, passed away peacefully at Riverside – La Verendrye Hospital on March 15, 2026.

Jeanette was born August 27, 1937, in Rainy River to Bill and Mary Marmus (nee Olinyk). She had one sister Donna Dalseg and two brothers Bill Marmus and Tim Marmus. Jeanette was married to Marty Roy and had one son Robin (Robbie) that sadly predeceased her in 2024.

Jeanette has three grandchildren Amber, Robbie Jr., and Lucas; and five great-grandchildren Kalin, Tristan, Scarlet, Sebastien, and Rafael. Jeanette has many nieces and nephews that will miss her as well.

In earlier years, Jeanette worked in the bank in Winnipeg and also owned and operated a restaurant in St. Pierre, Manitoba. Jeanette was a hockey player in her high school years, with her brother Bill having to file down the pick on her figure skates to play. Jeanette was also a curler and in her later years she enjoyed watching curling and hockey on TV. She especially enjoyed watching grandson Kalin’s games when she could.

Her greatest joy was going to Sioux Lookout and going fishing with her dear son Robbie. Robbie was her pride and joy. Jeanette moved back to Emo, Ontario, and lived in Golden Age Manor for several years, where she expressed how much she enjoyed it there. Recently she moved to assisted living in Rainy River where her dear niece Deany, spent much time and gave her extra special care. Jeanette is survived by sister Donna Dalseg and brother Tim Marmus (Giselle) and predeceased by brother Bill Marmus (Sharon).

The family would like to thank the doctors, nurses, and all the caregivers both at the hospital and assisted living for the care provided to our sister. Thank you so much!
