Life at the top may only be temporary for the current leaders of the Fort Frances Women’s Volleyball League.
The Diehards continued to set the pace with 57.5 points, but saw its cushion shrink from four points to just 1.5 over a hard-charging Scared Hitless squad (56), who jumped from third place to second with its six-point outing last Thursday night.
Sabaskong (53) also managed a six-point effort last week to leap from fourth to third while defending league champion Gillons’ was shut out—sinking to fourth spot with 52 points.
Power Paks (42.5) also were blanked last week but managed to maintain their fifth-place position while the Squirts (35.5) and Wildcats (34) remained sixth and seventh, respectively.
Mixed Nuts earned no points, but stayed in eighth place with 22 points, while a five-point performance by The Placers (14) finally moved them out of the league basement, ahead of the Rookies (10), who were blanked last week.
League action resumes tonight from 7-9:30 p.m. at Fort Frances High School and Robert Moore School.
