The Kenora Broncos kicked up their heels yesterday—and nearly threw their Muskie opponents completely out of the saddle.
The black-and-gold lost three of four matches against the host Broncos, with only the senior girls’ volleyball squad keeping the day from being a total loss.
Muskie head coach Char Ellwood watched her squad eke out a 3-2 victory in the best-of-five showdown to raise their NorWOSSA record to 2-1 on the season.
The junior girls’ volleyball squad (1-2) hung in until the end, but fell short in a 3-2 loss. Game scores for both matches were unavailable as of press time today.
Meanwhile, in basketball action, the senior boys (0-3) fell 71-61 to Kenora.
The junior boys (1-2) trailed by only two points at the break, but then suffered a second-half meltdown as the Broncos trounced the visitors 78-45.

This weekend will see the Muskie senior boys head to Winnipeg for the annual John Taylor Piper Classic tournament while the senior girls return to Kenora for the St. Thomas Aquinas invitational.
All four Muskie team return to NorWOSSA action this Tuesday (Jan. 14) at home against the Dryden Eagles, with play beginning at 3:30 p.m. in both gyms.
