The Sherburne County Sheriff’ Office in Elk River, Minn., is seeking assistance from residents of the Rainy River District who may have interacted with a suspect in a kidnapping and sexual assault case.
In press release from the Sheriff’s Office, they said they are seeking information from the public, including Fort Frances and surrounding communities, regarding Joseph Andrew Bragg, a 28-year-old male who was charged with the alleged kidnapping and sexual assault of a 7-year-old child in relation to an incident on Jan. 21. The child was recovered alive, the Sheriff’s Office said.
Rainy River District OPP shared the County Sheriff’s post, noting that Bragg has been known to frequent Fort Frances and the area.
According to the Sheriff’s Office, investigators have determined that Bragg communicated with parents through social media, offering to provide nanny or daycare services.
Investigators are asking anyone who may have employed Bragg for those services, or has information connected to the case, to contact them through the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension (BCA) tipline at 1-651-793-2465.
