It is with great sadness that the family of Viola May Plumridge announce her passing at Rainycrest Long-Term Health Care Facility at the age of 91.
Mom was born on January 3, 1935, in Eriksdale, Manitoba, and at an early age the family moved to Fort Frances, specifically McIrvine.
Mom was a very creative person and if there was a job of any kind to do she put on the supervisors hat and took charge.
Mom enjoyed being on the lake. Many weekends were spent on Pipestone Lake, The Lake Despair chain of lakes and up at Mainville Lake.

She worked at CFOB Radio station and then at the Fort Frances High School, eventually moving to the Board of Education office until retirement.
When Mom retired she discovered her talent as an artist. She was one of the founding members of the Fine Line Art Gallery. Many of Mother’s paintings can be found around town.
Mom was gifted with many, many friends. Mom and Dad loved to bowl and that is where their friendship with the Rum Dum’s bowling team began: Ed and Jeanne Kaun, Jack and Carol Booth and Dave and Marie Gregory. This friendship is something most people will never experience. Our family also spent many weekends at Derald and Bev McCool’s cabin on Footprint Lake.
Mom has gone to be with all her siblings, in-laws and their spouses who predeceased her, sadly also her grandson Michael.
Please keep a fond memory in your heart and mind about Mom. No more dementia Mom.
Left to carry on her legacy are daughter Kathleen (Merle) McFayden and son William; grandsons Jason McFayden and Neil Plumridge; great-grandkids Cameron, Paige and Warren McFayden; granddaughter-in-law Susan and lots of nieces and nephews.
To the staff at Rainycrest, you took care of Mom for eight years. Every one of you were amazing. You do not get enough credit for doing the job you have to do. Thank You!
There will be no service. Cremation has taken place.
Donations may be made to Rainycrest Long-Term Care.
Arrangements entrusted to Northridge Funeral Home Ltd., Emo, Ontario.
