Caring person

Dear sir:
I am writing this letter in response to the article in the Fort Frances Times last Wednesday (Feb. 5) entitled, “Woman helping ease the trauma.”
I used to stand in front of my mirror and on a bad hair day wish I was bald.
However, when my hair fell out in handfuls and then with no choice but to shave it off, I stood in front of that mirror—bald—with tears running down my face devastated.
My friend (thanks, Jane) had given me some of Rachel Korchak’s hats and as I tried them on, I began to feel better about myself and about going out in public.
My favourite hat was a winter soft/fluffy pink one. Your head also gets very cold with no hair, so they helped keep you warm and feeling confident. I now look in the mirror with a nice surprise—“curly hair.”
I’ve passed the hats on to Amethyst House so someone else can enjoy them as much as I did.
Thank you so much, Rachel. You are a very thoughtful, kind, and caring person!
Sincerely,
Linda Angus
