With Diane Maxey’s Easter cantata having had an initial listening session this past Monday, she now is encouraging anyone else who wants to get involved to attend the first practice on Monday, Feb. 12.
It will be held at the Zion Lutheran Church at 7 p.m.
Maxey said she’s already got 47 singers, but welcomes more. Those who think they want to get involved can give her a call in advance and arrange for her to get a song book and CD of the music to be performed.
Practices—all of which will take place in the basement of Zion Lutheran Church—will not be held every Monday leading up to Easter, noted Maxey, so that’s why singers must get involved as soon as possible.
“I think we’re missing two in March. We don’t necessarily have that many more practices,” she remarked.

Tentative performance dates include Monday, March 26 at Rainycrest Home for the Aged, April 1 (Palm Sunday) at St. Mary’s Church, and April 9 (Easter Monday) at Backus Auditorium over in the Falls.
