Bob was the founder of the ringette league in Atikokan.

He had a passion for hunting and fishing with his grandsons. He was a carpenter in his free time, and built many sets of cupboards and furniture.

Bob was a member of the Operating Engineers and worked in mining, pipeline, and on highway construction in many locations.

Bob and his family moved many times, they worked and lived all across Canada from Kitsault, B.C. to Burntland Brook, N.B., Labrador City/Wabush in the North,  Winnipeg, Man., Atikokan, Ont., and a short stint in Faro, Yukon. In 2001 the family set roots in Fort Frances to be close to family.
