On Dec. 18, 2025, the The Fort Frances Public Library Technology Centre (FFPLTC) announced that it has been reaccredited under the Ontario Public Library Guidelines, reaffirming the Library’s commitment to providing high-quality, accessible and up-to-date services to the community.
According to a statement from FFPLTC CEO Nadine Cousineau, accreditation means the library meets rigorous provincial standards for libraries.
“Reaccreditation recognizes that the Fort Frances Public Library Technology Centre continues to meet high standards of public library services, including access to technology, inclusive programming and staff expertise,” Cousineau said.
“The achievement ensures that the Library is accountable to the community and recognizes its ongoing efforts to adapt to evolving needs.
Cousineau praised the FFPLTC board and staff for their work over the last few years and on the accreditation.
“This certificate of accreditation would not have been possible without the library staff, board and our community,” she said.
“The staff and board have been through a lot in the last few years, and I commend them for staying professional and consistent in the delivery of our services.”
The Fort Frances Public Library Technology Centre provides access to books, programming, public computers, free WiFi, printing, scanning, faxing and meeting room rentals among many other things.
