Cridland family and Flint House preparing for Community Christmas Dinner

The Cridland family has announced that they will be once again hosting the Annual Community Christmas Dinner this year in Fort Frances.

The tradition of a community Christmas dinner dates back many years to a time when a sit down dinner was served in the basement of Knox United Church on Christmas Day.

The Cridland family has been working behind the scenes of the annual dinner since 2019, when they took over preparation duties for the dinner at Knox United Church. In 2020, they began sending out the holiday meals from the Flint House restaurant, and in recent years have bumped the dinner up to Christmas Eve so they, their staff and all the volunteers who come together to make each dinner a success can enjoy Christmas Day together.

“This cherished tradition brings our community together to share in the generosity and spirit of the holiday season, and we look forward tocelebrating with everyone,” the Cridland family wrote in a post on the Flint House Facebook page.

Like last year, Christmas dinners will be available for pick up and delivery on December 24, 2025

“We invite all members of the community to join us for this special event, whether by picking up a meal or having one delivered to your door,” they said.

“This dinner is about sharing warmth and joy with one another, and we hope it brightens your holiday season.”

To reserve your meal, or volunteer as a delivery driver, be sure to contact the Cridlands by Sunday, December 21, 2025, at 807-275-6671.

They will also be accepting monetary donations towards the cost of the meal, with cheques being made out to Community Living. Donations can be dropped off at Flint House or Northwoods Gallery & Gifts.
