The annual Emo Holly Daze takes place December 5 and 6 this year.
This event has been enjoyed by the district for many years.
The annual parade takes place Friday evening, December 5, followed by the lighting of the Christmas tree. Topping off the evening will be a display of fireworks. The Emo Legion will host its Crafts Galore with soup and sandwich lunch being offered. Crafts Galore takes place December 5 from 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Saturday from 9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Stuff a Cruiser will also take place on Saturday, December 6, at Cloverleaf Grocers. All food collected goes to the Emo Food Bank.
Be sure to sign up for the two draws of $250 Chamber Bucks supplied by the Emo Chamber of Commerce. More information to follow on Holly Daze.
Weechi-it-it-te-win Family Services (WFS) staff are busy with tree lighting and the many other tasks that come with making the McTavish Winter Wonderland a must for all families and friends to attend. This has definitely become a tradition for many people throughout the district. WFS are pleased to share this event with Gizhewaadiziwin Health Access Centre and Giishkaandago’Ikwe Health Services. The Emo Legion will host an evening of comedy. Comedy Invasion will perform December 8, with four comedians performing. Tickets are $20 before December 8 and $25 following that date. The show starts at 8 p.m. This is a 19 years of age and plus show.
Last week’s Emo Legion meat draw winners were Gail Kelly and Kim Penner. The next Beer and Burger is December 12.
There will be a bingo at the Emo Legion on December 16.
Happy 70th birthday wishes to Iris Shute. Iris reached this milestone birthday on November 25. The district sends you wishes for a great year with many more to come.
Renovations on the Community Hall are taking place from November 15 until the expected date of March 15. During this time the Hall will not be available to book events. Stay tuned for the exciting announcement of completion.
A thank you from the Township of LaVallee to the Province for Emergency Funding, which was used to purchase the generator for the municipal office, chainsaws and cancer protecting equipment for the fire hall.
