Wasteful

Dear Mr. Editor:
As a result of recent world events, the price of gasoline has understandably skyrocketed.
Why then, do we see government employees driving government vehicles with no regard to the price of fuel?
I have seen such employees working, etc. They never shut off their vehicles, which wastes fuel on the taxpayers’ tab!
Perhaps such employees should be laid off—and more environmentally-conscientious ones hired?
