Booth competing for ‘Canadian Idol’

Alyson Booth, from Devlin, is in Winnipeg this week trying out in the new “Canadian Idol” contest. She left Monday and we wish her success.
I spoke with her before she left and she was very excited and nervous, but was pleased to take her singing career to a new level.
The community wishes Alyson all the best.

Jack and Carol Booth, along with their daughters, recently lost a very close friend, Jack Clark. He was very close to the family and the girls considered him as a grandfather.
Our sympathy goes out to the family.
• • •
Our condolences also go out to Matt Tolton and Jen, who are grieving the loss of his father, Larry Tolton. He will be greatly missed by all the family.
• • •
Our hearts reach out to another family, the Morrishes, who also lost a family member, Reg Morrish, who was 92 on March 30. It was difficult for the family, who couldn’t visit him on a regular basis because of the hospital closures due to the SARS scare.

The winner of the March prize at Dev-Lynne’s was Christy Beadle, who was the lucky winner of a slow cooker divided into two sections. Likely a Mother’s Day gift for Cheryl!

Middle age is when they keep asking you to do more and you are not yet decrepit enough to turn them down.
