Planting trees for Mother Earth!

The 5th Fort Frances Scouts decided since May is the month Mother’s Day is celebrated, they would give a present to Mother Earth by planting 600 red pines.
These trees were planted in the old gravel pit in Dance Township.
10 Scouts, along with leaders John and Kim Lepine, Chris Brow, Mishelle Cousineau and Kensia Jakubowski, planted trees even though Mother Nature decided to rain down on them throughout the planting.
Scouts Canada plants two million trees annually. The 5th Fort Frances Scouts are proud to be a part of that accomplishment.
Abitibi-Consolidated (Woodlands Division) supplied the trees.
The Scouts also planted trees in the same spot last year and will continue to plant more next year.
