On Saturday afternoon, my wife, Adelia, and I attended the 50th wedding anniversary for long-time school friends, Marlys and Lorne Tveit of International Falls, held at Zion Lutheran Church.
Lorne, Marlys and Adelia attended elementary and high school at Williams, Mn.
The children and grandchildren of the couple planned the occasion, which involved an open house attended by about 100. In the evening, supper was served for the family at Ranier Community Center.
The couple is now retired and mostly spent their winters down south.
We also had the opportunity to visit for a few hours with our daughter-in-law, Leanne Guba, and her three children. Wayne was away with son, David, at a Scout camp for the weekend.

Dave’s wife, Dawn, and their son, Joshua, were slated to arrive here this Tuesday. They will be living in the trailer across from the Emo arena.

Sympathy also to the families of Don Redford, who passed away at La Verendrye hospital in Fort Frances after a lengthy illness. I got to know Don through his parents, Stephen and Edith, who were in the Golden Age Club, and few times I had attended Calvary Tabernacle.
A memorial service was held Monday at 2 p.m. at the Calvary Tabernacle.
