David Ostby, age 69, passed away on April 4, 2025, at La Verendrye Hospital-Riverside Health Care. David was a hardworking man who retired from International Bildrite Inc. after many years of service.
He was a true outdoorsman who found joy in woodworking, fishing, hunting and working with his hands. There was nothing he loved more than building something from scratch or spending quiet time in nature.

David was the kind of man who would give the shirt off his back if someone needed it. Always willing to help, he never hesitated to lend a hand to friends and neighbours. His generosity, compassion and strong work ethic were known and respected by all who knew him. He was a devoted father, step-father and grandfather. David guided his children, step-children and grandchildren with wisdom, patience and love, always pointing them in the right direction in life. He led by example, teaching the value of hard work, honesty and doing the right thing. He was incredibly proud of the people they’ve become.
He will be remembered for his giving spirit, his skilled hands, his love for family, friends, neighbours and the outdoors, and the steady quiet strength that defined him. He was a man built on kindness, honesty and strong but fair values. David is now on his next journey with his wife Ann Ostby.
