Sight and Sound finally fall, still in first

The pressure of a perfect season is now off the shoulders of Sight & Sound.
The squad was toppled for the first time this year recently, but with a 14-1 record, still hold a commanding lead in the Rainy River District Fastball League over second-place Rainy River (10-2).
Pinewood (8-4) has a grip on third place, while Barwick (6-9) sits in fourth. Big Grassy (4-8) has a half-game lead on Rainy Lake (3-8-1) for fifth, with Stratton (3-9) and Big Island (2-9-1) battling to stay out of the basement.
Scores from last week’s games as well as from action Monday and last night were not available as of press time.
Thursday’s schedule sees Rainy River face Sight & Sound in Fort Frances, Barwick heads to Big Island, Big Grassy travels to Pinewood and Stratton journeys to Rainy Lake.
The league’s old-timers game will be held July 24 at Vandura Field in Fort Frances, starting at 6:30 p.m., with the league’s all-star game to follow at 8 p.m.
