Devastating impact

Dear sir:
I was an employee at the Red Dog Inn for two-and-a-half years. Although I have not been there as long as my fellow employees, some 20+ years, the impact of its sudden closure is still just as devastating.
How do you go on with your life as usual when what you have been doing every day for the past 10, 15, or 20 years has been taken away from you all within a 48-hour span?
The customers—again some who have been coming to the Red Dog Inn for many years—were hurt, disappointed, and couldn’t believe that we were really being shut down. Just think of how the entire staff felt on Friday, July 25 when we were told that the doors would be locked on Sunday, July 27.
All that was said was, “I’m sorry, we’ll do all we can to fulfill all our duties.” Ha-Ha! Very professional.
The staff at the Red Dog Inn treated each other as part of the team—one of the family. It didn’t matter what department you were in, you were still part of the team. I feel as if part of my family was taken away due to certain individuals not willing to give it “one last chance.”
Whatever may happen, I am still proud to say, “Yes, I am a member of the Red Dog Inn team, and I will work with everyone again if given the chance!”
Very disgusted,
Ann Flamand
