Clarifying quote

Dear editor:
Just a quick correction/clarification on the article in last Thursday’s Daily Bulletin regarding Fort Frances town council.
In the article “Hamilton to run for council,” I was mildly misquoted. Duane Hicks called me to ask a few questions regarding filing the nomination papers for town council and so forth.
What I said was “. . . the current councillors and mayor, i.e., Deane Cunningham, Glenn Witherspoon, Neil Kabel, and the remaining councillors, are dedicated to serving our community—some for decades. I think it’s about time my generation comes forward to work with them and help them take Fort Frances into the future.”
How can I be certain of what I said? I had written it down and read it to Mr. Hicks during our interview.
