The regular monthly meeting for the Chapple Women’s Institute is slated for next Wednesday (Oct. 1). Roll call is ideas for Christmas.
Meanwhile, the season’s closing tea at the district W.I. museum in Emo will be held Monday, Oct. 6 from 11 a.m.-2 p.m. Come for the hearty luncheon of soup and sandwiches, and why not buy your week’s baking at their bake sale.
Crafts also will be available, and tickets still are on sale for the quilt which will be raffled off in December.

Thirty-two people attended the potluck luncheon at the Stratton seniors’ centre last Thursday (Sept. 18). Everyone also enjoyed Irene Olson’s video of the centennial parade. Thanks Irene!

A reminder that Octoberfest in Baudette runs Sept. 26-28, with several old-time bands playing old favourites for dancing or listening.
Dancing at the Emo Legion goes this Saturday (Sept. 27).

The North Branch ladies’ meeting is set for Oct. 1 at the community centre. Discussion will be on the coming winter’s quilting.

If you haven’t seen “Ivanka” before, now is your chance to catch this one-woman comedy, which is coming to the Rainy River Community Centre on Saturday, Oct. 18.

Last Saturday’s music workshop at Our Lady of the Way concluded on Sunday with mass and a luncheon send-off for instructors, Faye Lyngstad and Evelyn Kushnier, as they readied to return to Thunder Bay.
Their instruction was much appreciated. Thanks to all the ladies who prepared the lunch!

A benefit supper for Kyle Langlais will be held Sunday, Oct. 5 from 5-7 p.m. at the O.L.O.W. parish hall. It will feature a spaghetti dinner with tossed and Caesar salad.
Tickets cost $10 each (those six and under are free). Items for the penny table are gratefully accepted, and may be left at the church.
