Barbara “Winnie” Bileski, 88, of Fort Frances, Ont., passed away peacefully at Rainycrest Home for the Aged in Fort Frances with her family at her side on Thursday, Sept. 25, 2003.
She was born in Goldenvale, Sask. on Aug. 11, 1915 to Fred and Mary Chowhan. She married Alex Bileski in 1938. Barbara worked for years at the Rainy Lake Hotel and Bending Lake Lodge, and devoted her life to her family.
Barbara was predeceased by her parents, Fred and Mary Chowhan; husband, Alex Bileski in 1954; sisters, Pauline Esse and Pearl Shperuk; and brother, John Chowhan.
Barbara is survived by her three sons, Bob (Fern) of Pickle Lake, Ont., Ron (Anne) of Oakville, Ont., and Rick (Mary) of Winnipeg, Man.
She also is survived by her grandchildren, Jodi, Marla, Rachel, Alex, Glenn, Pam, Scott, and Allan; great-grandchildren, Michael, Jenna, Braden, and Bailey; sister, Anne Marrs of Fort Frances, Ont.; and brother, Bill Chowan of International Falls, Mn.
As per Barbara’s wishes, cremation will take place.
A private family service will take place, followed by interment in Riverview Cemetery in Fort Frances at a later date.
