More candidates for municipal election

The final list of candidates for the upcoming municipal elections is now complete.
In the Township of Dawson, incumbent Reeve John Amundsen has been acclaimed for another term while five candidates are vying for the four seats on council.
Incumbents Linda Armstrong, Alphonse Langlais, and John Sanderson will face off against newcomers Eric Westover and Archie C. Wiersema on Nov. 10.
Incumbent Mark Chojko-Bolec has been acclaimed for another term on the Northwest Catholic District School Board.
Meanwhile, in the Township of Lake of the Woods, incumbent Valerie Pizey is facing a challenge from former Ward 2 Coun. Ken Pentney for the mayor’s position.
Three candidates have declared for the two seats in Ward 1, including incumbents Alfred H. Gate and Bill Lundgren. Nancy Gate will be trying to unseat one of them.
In Ward 2, incumbent JoAnn B. Moen is facing three challengers for the two seats available there. Collen Fadden, Ernest McCormack, and Rockford Moen are the other candidates in the running.
The three candidates vying for the one seat on the public school board are incumbent Ron McAlister against Lisa Armstrong and Crystal Lindal.
Lake of the Woods will be using the vote-by-mail system for the first time.
