Local quartet tackles Twin Cities

Four local runners took the scenic tour of Minnesota’s largest metropolitan area during the 22nd-annual Twin Cities Marathon on Sunday.
Connee Badiuk, Bob Tkachuk, and Cathy Kowal-Golding participated in the full marathon, which wound through St. Paul before ending up in the Minneapolis portion of the area.
Char Bliss, meanwhile, competed in the 10-mile race held earlier in the day.
Badiuk recorded a personal best of 4:02:58—well below the average time of 4:19:57—to come in 2,889th out of the 7,084 finishers.
Tkachuk was clocked at 4:18:35 to finish exactly 3,800th while Kowal-Golding posted a time of 4:29:36 to place 4,444th.
Bliss sped to a time of 1:24:06 to wind up 1,043rd out of the 3,634 finishers in the 10-mile race, bettering her event’s average finishing time of 1:35:11.
