ANNA CAIN (nee BODNAR)

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beautiful mother Anna Cain (née Bodnar) on December 3, 2024 at the Kingston General Hospital, with her children by her side.

Born to Joseph and Dominia Bodnar in Springfield, Man., she was the second oldest (oldest daughter) of eleven children. At the age of 18, her family moved to Alberton, Ont., where she grew up helping to raise all of her younger siblings, as her father passed away when she was 22 years old.

Anna was a full time mother to their eight children, she took pride in her home, she was an amazing cook, her pierogies and cabbage rolls were out of this world. We will miss her brownies too. She took great pride in her flower beds and her massive garden. She loved to go fishing, crocheting, knitting and sewing. Anna had a independent, strong spirit, who lived on her own until she passed.

Left to mourn her passing are her sons Donald Cain (Carol), Gerry Cain (Rachelle), and her daughters Lori Clancy (Victor), and Tannis Sampson (Jeffery); her grandchildren Adria (Kingsley), Erika, Chrysta (Pete), Rylee (Chris), Chelsey (Travis), Jodi (John-Paul), Brittany, Nicholas, Maxwell, Gregory, and Paige; and her great-grandchildren Wyatt, Cassidy, Ayden, Elodie, Mason, Owen and Gianna.

She is also survived by her sisters Evelyn Myers (Frank), Elenor Johanson (Steve); and her brothers Edward, Norman (Lecea); and many nieces and nephews.

Predeceased by her parents; her husband Raymond of 62 years; her daughter Trish; her sons Denis, Brian, and Gary; her sister Olga; and her brothers Michael, William, John, Paul, Marvin; and sisters-in-law Helen and Doreen.

As per Anna’s request there will be no service, cremation has taken place, and a private celebration of life and interment will be held at a later date.

For those who wish, donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation.

A mother’s love endures through all. We love you Mom.
