Local 4-H kids ‘Go for the Gold’

Four district youths will be flying off to Toronto later this week to compete in the annual “Go for the Gold” 4-H competition being held in conjunction with the Royal Winter Fair.
Kerry Hyatt, Matt McQuaker, Matt Beacham, and Hailey Heyens will put their knowledge to the test—and hopefully come home with the gold medal.
The foursome competed in Wawa on Oct. 4 and won, which enabled them to advance to the showdown in Toronto this Saturday (Nov. 8) against five other regions from the province.
Best of luck to all four of you from Rainy River District.

Robin’s 2¢:
One morning a woman said to her husband, “I bet you don’t know what day this is.”
“Of course I do,” he answered on his way out.
At 10 a.m., the woman received a delivery of a dozen long-stem red roses. Later, a box of her favourite chocolates arrived. Excited, she phoned her husband.
“First the flowers, then the chocolates!” she exclaimed. “What a wonderful Columbus Day!”
