Great partnership

Dear Mr. Behan:
On Oct. 29, the Northwestern Health Unit conducted a ’flu immunization clinic at David’s Deli Soup Kitchen. As a result, several community members, who may not have normally received this important inoculation, were immunized.
This outreach is an excellent example of how various service providers can modify their program delivery strategies to best reach, and ultimately serve, the community.
David’s Deli Soup Kitchen and Joy of Life Fellowship would like to publicly thank the staff of the health unit for their creativity and earnest desire to deliver effective health services to a segment of the community that may not have been reached through immunization clinics held in an institutional setting.
We are proud to have had the opportunity to make our facility and the soup kitchen available for this unique approach to service delivery. And we would like to encourage other program providers to consider bringing their service directly to the members of our community.
We would welcome the opportunity to work in partnership to make this happen.
