




Each fall, grade five and grade 10 students from across the Rainy River District School Board, the Northwest Catholic School District School Board, and area First Nations schools are invited to learn about traditional fall harvest practices from indigenous and Métis community members at Dagwaagini-maaw-indoosijigewin or fall harvest.
Students learned about Treaty Three itself, fish preparation, the preparation of geese and bear grease, wild rice harvesting and preparation (left) deer butchering, drumming, the Anishinaabe language, medicine teachings, Métis jigging (above left), making bannock on a stick (above right), fry bread (right) as well as hearing from a residential school survivor.
