Slap missed

Dear editor:
Now that I’ve been assaulted (“A gentle wrist slap,” Feb. 11), I feel I need to defend myself. The only problem I’m having is that I can’t seem to find anyone who agrees with the editor (did you even hear the interview?) or his source.
I was never questioned by anyone at any time (including councillors), no phone calls, no letters, or e-mails regarding the CBC interview. In fact, I even called several people who I know listen to CBC Radio religiously and was told that the interview included the same things that I and the media have been reporting for the last month.
Anyway, I’m as puzzled as the people I have spoken to?
As for the resolution passed at the council meeting, I never took it as being aimed at me and, therefore, never took any intended message to heart (as you had hoped for).
Perhaps it would be helpful if the editor and the councillor involved familiarized themselves with the law regarding the role and responsibilities of a councillor, and the role and responsibility of the mayor, before attempting to suggest the roles are the same (they are not).
Oh, as for the “slap on the wrist,” you must have missed because I felt nothing.
Those of you who would normally greet me with a “high five,” next time just give me some wrist.
