Wonderful

Dear Mike:
On Monday, Dec. 11, we local war brides were treated to a wonderful evening by our daughters and granddaughters.
As 2006 is the Year of the War Bride, our daughters and granddaughters planned an evening of memories, beginning with being welcomed by a “Mountie,” receiving a red-and-white corsage, and a “thank you for staying.”
Pier 21 was there, as was a video with pictures of some of the boats that we came to Canada on, and our wedding pictures. Those who have passed on were not forgotten.
Music that we danced to 60 years ago was played during the evening. We also played games, Santa paid a visit, and loads of pictures were taken.
We had a ball, with lots of laughter and a few tears.
What a lot of thought, planning, and love was put into this memorable event. May we use this letter to thank our daughters and granddaughters for a delightful and wonderful time.
Thank you, the Times, for being there, too.
Love,
Jean Boileau
