Dear editor,
Easter, the time of year when all across the world, Christians celebrate the death of Jesus on the cross where he took all the sins of mankind on Himself and three days later rose from the dead in glorious Resurrection. His work was not completed on the cross. When He rose from the dead, He ascended to the Father God to sit at his right hand as our advocate and intercessor. If we consider ourselves to be Christians and have accepted Jesus as our Lord and saviour (Romans ch. 10, vs 9 -10), then we have someone in heaven who is there to intercede for us. (Romans ch 8, vs 34). Jesus’ present ministry now is at the right hand of God as our advocate and intercessor (1 John ch 2, vs 1-2). As Christians, we are not perfect. And we will do or not do things that are not pleasing to our Father God. If we are honest with ourselves and realize we have sinned and ask for forgiveness, we have an advocate at the Father’s right hand ready to intercede for us to the Father. Jesus walked the earth for 33 years and experienced all temptation that comes to man. (Math. Ch 4 vs 1-11) He knows and understands all the trials that come to us and because of His great love for us He wants to help us come out of the trials as victors. Do not let the things of the world or society distract you from the true meaning of Easter, but celebrate with a glad and sincere heart, knowing you have an intercessor helping you in heaven at the throne room of grace. Go to church this Easter and don’t miss an opportunity to thank God for your intercessor. Have a glorious and blessed Easter.
